My pantry staples

So my sister in law, Karen, asked me to make a list of what I though should be pantry staples. So I went through my pantry, fridge, and freezer and compiled a list of what I usually have. Now by no means is this list what I think everyone should have, rather what I usually have that I make my meals from. I keep my pantry stocked with these basics and if I come across a recipe that calls for something I do not have, I will either go and buy that item or try and see what would make the recipe work, that I do have. So anyway, this is my basic list of what I almost always have in the pantry, fridge, and freezer. Hope it helps!

*By the way one of the things I love about my house is my awesome pantry, it isn’t huge but works pretty darn

good!

 

My Pantry Staples

 

Seasonings/Dried Herbs

Granulated Garlic * (I personally do not like Garlic Powder but use what you want)

Oregano                             Onion Powder (this is also granulated)

Season Salt                        Cinnamon            Cumin                                  Cream of Tartar

Baking Soda                       Accent                  Ranch Dressing Mix          Onion Soup Mix

Baking Powder (yes they are different)     Celery Seed                        Adobo

Steak grill seasoning        Ginger                  Mustard                              Chili Mix

Taco seasoning                 Lemon Pepper    Rosemary                           Thyme

Cayenne                             Chili Powder       Kosher Salt                         pepper corns

 

 

Other dry good items

Pasta                                   Crackers (2 -3 different kinds)       peanut butter (smooth & crunchy)

Canned Beans (green, pork& beans, black, pinto, kidney, cannellini, etc.)

Soup (cream of chicken, mushroom, celery, tomato, chicken noodle)

Green chili’s                       sugar (white, brown, & powdered)             flour (all purpose)*

Dream Whip                      Crisco (sticks are easier I think)                   syrup (pancake/ maple)

Raisin/ craisins                  Pam       Panko bread crumbs                       Pancake Mix

Potato (white & sweet)   sliced bread                       Cornstarch          Popcorn (microwave)

Oil (extra virgin olive, canola, or vegetable)            Vinegar (balsamic, cider, white, red wine, tarragon)

Snacks for kids & Hubby (variety of items)

 

Freezer items *

I put self- rising flour in the freezer because I do not use it as often, if you have wheat flour you will want to keep it in the freezer as well as it will go bad faster than white flour.

Grits                      Cornmeal                           Homemade bread crumbs (* will tell you about how to make these another time, is super easy)

Meats (chicken, hamburger, pork, turkey, sausages, vegetables, bread (usually Italian)

 

Refrigerator items

Mayonnaise                       ketchup                mustard (yellow, brown/spicy, Dijon, honey)

BBQ sauce                          milk                       orange juice        vegetables and fruit

Lunch meat                        cheese                 pickles

*whatever else you like to eat!!!!!
