PW Green Bean Casserole

Hey y’all! I just thought I would give you a little advice for this recipe. I was making it the other night and had to tweak it a bit. See I had the fresh green beans but didn’t have time to boil them and flash them, so I thought what could I do to make them cook while in the oven and not burn the whole thing…And my solution? I added about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of milk to the recipe.

I added the milk after I had already made the butter, flour, cheese mixture in the skillet. Then I poured that whole mixture over the green beans and added the peppers then mixed it well and put in my casserole dish. OH! Speaking of which, I didn’t have fresh bell peppers, but I did have a small jar of pimento peppers so I just chopped them up and added it.

It was just as good and the green beans cooked in the sauce but it didn’t get too dry. So go to the Pioneer Woman’s website or food network website and get the original recipe and try it. I love it, such a nice change from regular green bean casserole.
