Christmas Hollybush Treats

As I promised here is another tradition from my family. My mother has informed me that these require A LOT of green food coloring, you will see what I am talking about in the pictures. Also, my mother made these with red hot candies, which you are welcome to, but seeing as I never cared for them much I used red M & M candies.

  • 6 cups corn flakes
  • 3 Tbsp butter
  • 1 10 oz. Bag marshmallows
  • Green food coloring
  • Red M & M candies
  • Wax or parchment paper to lay out bushes on
  • Non stick spray, for you hands, trust me!

In sauce pan, melt butter and marshmallows over low heat. You do not want heat too high or it will burn everything.

Once all is melted add green food coloring, till is the shade of green you want. I would have preferred mine a darker shade of green, but I grew impatient.

Pour marshmallow mix over corn flakes and mix well.

And have little hands separating green from red.

Spray your hands well with nonstick spray. Then grab clumps of mixture ,as big or little as you want, and place on wax or parchment paper. Then stick on at least 2 M&M candies. Let them sit for 5 minutes or so then put in air tight container.

P.S. Up next cheese potatoes.
