Italian Pastine Chicken-less soup

Today the Bubbsters is a little under the weather, fighting off yet another winter time cold. So I decided to make him some soup (FYI he is the pickiest, blandest eater in this house), but it was lunch time and I didn’t have time to make soup from scratch. So this is what I came up with. Actually I used to make this for my self back in the day when I lived alone, on cold winter nights, it’s easy and yummy.

Ingredients

1/4 cup pastine pasta (it is either star shaped or balls)

1-2 cups of chicken broth (depending on how soupy you like/want it)

2-4 Tbsp of Ragu

Parm cheese to taste

S&P to taste

Bring your broth to boil and add in your pastine.

Once the pastine is cooked (should be about 10 minutes) add in your ragu (sauce you like). Mix well, and bowl it up!P1040396

Add in your cheese and S&P and EAT UP!!!

Now you could add in veggies or chicken if you have it, but I didn’t and well this really doesn’t need it. This is also the first pasta I fed my kids when they were babies, minus the sauce. I hope you all are not sick, but if you are, or if you are cold (like we are here) whip up this dish. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Enjoy!
